With the upcoming celebrations for the 100th anniversary on the 11th November this year, locals  George and Daniel  Goody found the memorial covered in eggs. The first world war veterans lives  are to be remembered and a special occasion where Buckingham Palace’s moat is to be filled with poppies celebrating the 100th anniversary. Mr   Goody told us, “I  am disgusted, I  can’t believe    anyone would disrespect those who had sacrificed their lives for their families and especially with       the anniversary coming up. Living on the high road I am often disrupted by young rowdy teenagers who’ve been drinking on a Saturday night at ridiculous hours. I immediately thought on Sunday morning it would’ve been those sort of people, it has to be, no one else would have so little respect for our fallen hero’s”.

Even the landlord himself  got  into  the spirit with a game of ‘wet-sponge’ where  customers would  get   three sponges to be launched at the landlord. Bill Stutchfield  said “It  was  such  a lovely  day for a wonderful cause, I’m  glad I could help  support  and do  as  much  as  I could to raise some money, I’d like to say a special thank you to the staff”,
